While
golfers generally like to see low numbers on the course, this week we’re
celebrating high numbers in the golf community!

Of
the more than $2.3 million raised through this past November’s tournament, over
$2 million was raised through Birdies Fore Love, the tournament’s
giving platform. Of that amount, nearly $1.2 million was raised by RSM employees
and clients, and another $500,000 was donated by the RSM US Foundation.
Charitable
dollars raised through The RSM Classic are distributed by the Davis Love Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that
manages and operates the tournament. The Foundation was established in 2005 by
professional golfer and Team RSM member Davis Love III and his wife
Robin.
Thanks
to all of those who got involved – we can’t wait until this year’s
tournament!
This
announcement came in conjunction with National Golf Day yesterday. In honor
of the day, the game’s nearly $4 billion annual charitable impact was
recognized.
Ready
for another large number? On the eve of National Golf Day, the World Golf
Foundation released the U.S. Golf Economy Report. As reported in Golf Week, the annual economic impact generated
by the game of golf in the United States has reached $84.1 billion. We
are so proud of the golf community for helping to create such a positive
influence around the country, and so honored to be a part of this community
through our sponsorship of The RSM Classic and Team RSM.
This week on the golf course, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans is
in full swing at the TPC Louisiana course. Team RSM Members Zach Johnson and Chris Kirk will be playing, joined
by past RSM Classic winners Mac Hughes (2016), Kevin Kisner (2015) and Ben Crane (2011). Don’t
forget, this is a two-man team event, so it’s a little different, but a whole
lot of fun!
