To say this week has been incredible would be an understatement! I’ve had the privilege to visit Sea Island with my husband Kevin this year, as a result of my national co-leadership role with Birdies Fore Love, and it’s been nothing short of amazing since the moment we set foot in Georgia!
We arrived
Tuesday to sunny skies and beautiful weather. Upon entering the hotel property,
we were greeted with RSM everywhere we looked! It was so fun to see the grounds
transformed into a whole world of RSM. We knew it was going to be a special
night for us, so we toured the property and headed over to Davis and Robin
Love’s home for the Yamaha Pro-Am Draw Party. It was at this event where John
Davitt (RSM’s national Birdies Fore Love leader) and I had the pleasure of presenting
the RSM US Foundation’s Birdies Fore Love check for more than $2 million to the
Davis Love Foundation! It was such a humbling experience to have served as a
2017 co-leader, and one that I will never forget. To know the impact this will
have on the communities where RSM employees, partners and friends live and work
is something that is truly special.

Wednesday
was a day full of anticipation of the tournament! John and I were interviewed
by Matt Adams from The Golf Channel and Sirius XM Radio on our fundraising
efforts around Birdies Fore Love – live on the radio! That was something I’d
never done before, and boy was it fun! From there, we were able to walk the
courses, watch some of the Pro-Am, and cheer on the Special Olympics and Boys
& Girls Club representatives at the charity putting event before the
evening reception. At this reception, we got to mingle with clients, friends,
and guests before a private performance by Jake Owen! How we made it to the
front row is beyond me, but that’s quite a way to watch a live performance!

As we head
out today, I have the opportunity to reflect on the week spent in paradise… Not
only did I get to witness some fun golf, spoil myself at the spa, and enjoy the
sunshine, but I also got to play a small part in transforming the lives of
youth in our communities because of the people of RSM’s generosity and
commitment to stewardship. I can’t wait to see what we can do next year!
