Tues., Nov.
14 was a terrific day at The RSM Classic.
This year, my wife Alison and I had the opportunity to attend the tournament,
and it has been an experience we will never forget. Welcomed by a fresh sea
breeze and friendly RSM representatives, we settled into our hotel and explored
the beautiful property. On Tuesday, excitement
was building onsite as PGA TOUR professionals played practice rounds on the
course. In addition, our 2017 Birdies
Fore Love program was coming to its completion as we were ready to announce
this year’s program fundraising results.
Last night,
my wife and I had the opportunity to attend the Pro-Am Player pairing party at
Davis and Robin Love’s home and celebrate the success of the 2017 Birdies Fore
Love program. This year, RSM’s Birdies Fore Love program raised more than $2 million for charity. As the 2017 Birdies Fore Love co-leader, I am
deeply proud and taken aback by the generosity of RSM’s network of donors. These
donations will directly impact over 70 local charities and communities in which
RSM’s employees live and work. Giving back to the community is a long-standing
tradition at RSM, and has gained success as we have partnered with the Davis
Love Foundation through The RSM Classic. As a result, more than $9 million
has been raised for local communities, and this stewardship has been woven into
the very culture of RSM.
The highlight
of the night was having the opportunity to join Davis and Robin Love, Joe
Adams, Bailey Kosiek and Doug Opheim on stage to present the $2 million check
for Birdies Fore Love charities. Shortly after, we had the opportunity to
network with clients, partners and guests and discuss stewardship at RSM. I truly believe that the stewardship culture
at RSM transcends charitable programs and is woven into the very nature of our
client service. We look forward to
additional stewardship events this week as we participate in the charity
putting competition and Folds of Honor events.
Every year,
RSM puts on a first class event and creates a stage to share the wonderful
stewardship activities and impact it has on communities around the country.
