Don’t Miss Your Chance to Support the Community

With the addition of a second golf course (Plantation) and the larger field for the 2015 McGladrey Classic, a couple of our volunteer committees are looking for a few additional “helping hands” this year. If you are interested in volunteering, now's your chance! We’re looking for volunteers to support a few key areas for this year's tournament—particularly laser operators and marshals.

Laser operators assist PGA TOUR staff with the compilation of player statistics. Each hole will have several volunteers tracking each player’s shots, using lasers. Shifts vary according to tee times. To ensure proper coverage, volunteers are asked to commit to a full day of service and attend a training session.

Marshals provide gallery control for the tournament by monitoring all golf course crosswalks, tee boxes, greens, clubhouse and practice areas. Both volunteer opportunities are good ways to see some fantastic golf while getting “up close and personal” with some of the game’s greatest players.

We, along with Tournament Host Davis Love III, would love to see you at this year’s tournament. Interested?  Register to volunteer here.

Not able to donate your time during this year’s tournament? (We know it’s a busy time of year!) You can always donate to the Friends of the Foundation, this year’s McGladrey Classic fundraiser for local charities. The Friends of the Foundation is selling raffle tickets for $20 each for a chance to win a 2015 Buick Verano, which will be awarded during tournament week.  Participating charities will receive 100 percent of their raffle ticket sales and, in addition, the Davis Love Foundation will disburse $50,000 to charitable organizations, based on their percentage of ticket sales. Learn more about it here. But, that's not all... we're also looking for caddies for the Yamaha Pro-Am on Wed., Nov. 18. Carry a single bag for an amateur with a professional golfer in the group and you'll receive $100 for covering 18 holes! Golf experience is preferred, and volunteers are required to attend one of three training sessions (approximately one hour each) prior to the event. If you're interested, email James Loggin at

Before closing this week’s post, we wanted to let our readers know that Team McGladrey Member Zach Johnson had a great week last week at The Barclays where he tied for fourth place. Zach is in Norton, MA for the Deutsche Bank Championship this week, where he’s joined by fellow Team McGladrey Member Davis Love III and past McGladrey Classic winners Chris Kirk (2013) and Robert Streb (2014). Teeing off from tee No. 10, Robert started at 9:18 a.m. ET; from the same tee, Chris tees off at 1:04 p.m. ET; Zach tees off at 1:40 p.m. ET from tee No. 1; and Davis starts at 2:04 p.m. ET from tee No. 10. Best of luck to all our “guys” this weekend. #DidYouKnow Chris Kirk won this tournament last year – do we feel a back-to-back win?

Be sure to stop by next week for any updates on Team McGladrey and the 2015 McGladrey Classic (Nov. 16-22).
