Making News
Earlier this week, The McGladrey Classic (which will be renamed
The RSM Classic
later this year) received some exciting news! We
are honored to have been voted the "Best Special Event" by the
readers of Elegant Island Living in the “Best of 2015” Edition!
Thank you to all who voted. #EILBestOf2015
The Classic is an incredible experience in and of
itself, but when you add the location and southern hospitality – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to create wonderful memories while watching some of the game’s
finest players. We hope to see all of our returning guests and to welcome many new
visitors to Sea Island for the tournament this November (16-22). Tickets are
on sale now so get
yours soon! You’ll receive a 20-percent discount off select McGladrey Classic
tickets (excluding concert tickets; performer: TBA) when you purchase
online.
Are you on Facebook? If so, check out The McGladrey
Classic’s page where we’re spotlighting volunteer positions available for this
year’s tournament. This week, the volunteer spotlight is a laser operator.
Volunteers on this committee will be asked to assist the PGA TOUR Shot Link
staff with the compilation of player statistics. Each hole will have several
volunteers to track player shots using
lasers. To learn more: http://bit.ly/1IRBkNp.
Wondering what’s going on with some of our McGladrey
Classic “family members” this week? Well, Team McGladrey
Member Zach Johnson is all the
talk at the John Deere Classic, where many – including
PGA TOUR’s
Fantasy Golf – are
favoring Zach to win. (#DidYouKnow Zach won the John Deere Classic in 2012?) Joining
Zach in Illinois are past McGladrey Classic champions Heath Slocum (2010), Ben Crane (2011) and Robert Streb (2014). Both Ben and Robert had an early start, teeing off
at 7:50 a.m. CT, from tees No. 1 and 10 respectfully; Heath wasn’t too far
behind when he teed at 8:30 a.m. from tee No. 10; and from tee No. 1, Zach tees
off at 12:50 p.m. Check out the Twitter picture Ben posted yesterday from the
John Deer Classic Pro-Am, after making a hole-in-one at the third hole! We’re
pulling for you all this week, guys!
