Keep the Stewardship Tradition Going

This week Team McGladrey Member Zach Johnson is in San Francisco for the World Golf Championship-Cadillac Match. Play started yesterday (Wed., April 29), and Zach had quite a day! Today, Zach tees off at 2 p.m., PT from tee No. 1.  Check out the shots the PGA TOUR shared of Zach making an impressive eagle and then another incredible shot at the 16th hole. Great job, Zach! Keep the momentum going!

Tomorrow (Fri., May 1) marks the 27th year of the annual Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Georgia Giant Golf Tournament. The tournament is the club’s oldest fundraising event, and one of the longest running golf tournaments in the Golden Isles (home of The McGladrey Classic). If you live on or near Sea Island – or if you’re going to be in that “neck of the woods” for any other reason on May 1, come out for a day of fun and great food from Larry’s Giant Subs on the beautiful greens of the Jekyll Island Golf Course. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., ET; cost is $100 per person or $400 per team, and includes the tournament fee, shared cart fee, lunch, range balls and an after party. There will be hole contests and great door prizes, too. Learn more about this event here.

And speaking of the Golden Isles, The Plantation Course at Sea Island Resort will make its PGA TOUR debut during the 2015 McGladrey Classic this fall. While the Seaside Course remains the headliner, Plantation enters the rotation to help a full field finish on time Thursday and Friday before the cut is made. Ranked by Plantation is ranked by Golf Magazine among the top 10 public golf courses in Georgia, so you’ll definitely want to check it out if you plan to join us for this year’s tournament in November (16-22).

That’s it for this week. Stop by every Thursday to hear the latest on Team McGladrey and the 2015 McGladrey Classic!
