Last week’s Masters Tournament was a bit of a nail-biter. Those of us here at McGladrey would like to send a big CONGRATS to Jordan Spieth on his first major win last weekend (and he’s only 21 years old)! We’d also like to give a big thumbs up to Team McGladrey Member Zach Johnson, who tied for ninth at the prestigious tournament! Great job, Zach! Your friends at McGladrey are very proud of you!
This
week, Zach is on the East Coast for the RBC Heritage tournament, which takes
place in Hilton Head, SC. While the weather forecast for Hilton Head (and the
entire East Coast, actually) is a bit “iffy” for the next several days, the
company will be great. Zach is joined on the course by several familiar faces, including
McGladrey Classic winners Ben
Crane (2011), Chris
Kirk (2013) and Robert
Streb (2014). This is the first time since 2007 that Zach has played in this
tournament. And based on the PGA TOUR’s power rankings, it just might be his year,
as he’s ranked No. 1! Zach had an early tee time this morning at 8:10 a.m., ET,
from tee No. 10; Chris tees off at 12:20 p.m., from tee No. 1; and Robert
and Ben are paired together teeing off at 12:30 p.m., from tee No. 1. Best of luck to
all of “our guys” this weekend! Stay dry!
And
if you’re looking for some good entertainment between rounds, check out this
PGA TOUR video of ‘Good, Bad, and Unusual.’ Early on in the video, you’ll see
an adorable little boy whose face lit up with a huge grin, after Davis gave him
one of his golf balls from the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Shortly after (from
the same tournament), a great shot (and a little bit of luck from a slight
bounce) leads to Zach carding an albatross – exciting stuff! Watch it
here.
Check
back next week for more updates on Team McGladrey and the 2015 McGladrey
Classic. It’s not even summer yet, but November will be here before
we know it! We’re already looking forward to heading back to Sea Island…
