Man, oh man! Team McGladrey Member Davis Love III keeps adding to his calendar. Yesterday, March 4, U.S. Presidents Cup Team Captain Jay Haas named Davis as his second captain’s assistant, joining Fred Couples in that role. The Presidents Cup will be played in Asia for the first time this fall (Oct. 6-11). The news release has Davis commenting:
“I’m ready to help Jay and the team as much as I can as a captain’s assistant. Jay and I were successful as assistants for the last Presidents Cup in 2013, and I am very excited to join him and the U.S. Team in South Korea this fall. I love being in the team room and positively impacting the U.S. side anyway I can. As the season progresses, I look forward to playing with some of the U.S. Team, as I still play on the PGA TOUR quite a bit. But I am happy to help Jay and the team however I can.”
We are beyond excited to watch Davis in 2015. Being named as the 2016 Ryder Cup captain, his new projects with Love Golf Design and Love Golf Management, continuing to play in the PGA TOUR and now this! Huge congrats from your friends at McGladrey, Davis!
Speaking of the Ryder Cup, the PGA TOUR featured a great video on their Facebook page (on Feb. 26) of Davis’ Ryder Cup Team USA career highlights. And while you’re roaming on Facebook, check out The Ryder Cups page to see the adventures the tournament trophy went on in Minnesota’s Twin Cities area recently in preparation for the 2016 event!
Also happening this week, Team McGladrey Member Chris DiMarco is in Rio Grande for the Puerto Rico Open. He tees off at 12:10 p.m. from tee No. 10. Previous McGladrey Classic winners Heath Slocum (2010) and Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey (2012) are also playing at the tournament. We’re wishing them all the best of luck!
That’s the latest-and-greatest from this week! Be sure to stop by every Thursday for more updates on Team McGladrey and the 2015 McGladrey Classic (Nov. 16-22).
