Also this week, we’re
hearing lots of rumblings about Davis being selected as the U.S. Captain for
the 2016 Ryder Cup. The official announcement is supposed to be issued Tues.,
Feb. 24, so we’ll be awaiting that news, and will report back on that during
next week’s post. But wait…there’s more…Davis was elected this week by the PGA
TOUR to be Chairman of the Player Advisory Council (PAC). The 16-member PAC
advises and consults with the PGA TOUR Policy Board and Commissioner Tim
Finchem on issues affecting the TOUR. Davis will serve with (among others) 2010
McGladrey Classic winner Heath
Slocum. Congratulations to Davis!

Coming
up in the world of golf: on March 24, Jack Nicklaus will be awarded with the
highest civilian award the U.S. Congress can bestow – the Congressional Gold
Medal. Jack will be the third golfer to receive the award (others are Bryon
Nelson and Arnold Palmer) for the many contributions to the game of golf and
community and nation. For more details, check out this Golf
Channel article. What an incredible achievement for such a deserving person. Congratulations,
Jack!
Speaking
of recognitions, TRAVEL + LEISURE 2015 World’s Best Awards Survey is underway,
and you can help Sea Island, home of The McGladrey Classic, win. If

Check
back next week for more updates on Team McGladrey and The McGladrey Classic,
which is scheduled for Nov. 16-22, 2015.
