The RBC Heritage tees off today (April 17) on Hilton
Head Island, SC, and it’s another exciting one for us, as all three members of Team McGladrey are playing. Chris DiMarco teed off this morning at
7:30 a.m., ET on tee no. 1, and Davis Love III teed off at 12:40 p.m.
on tee no. 1, followed by Zach Johnson at 12:50 p.m. from the
same tee. The PGA TOUR posted a video of Davis commenting before the tournament.
You can view that here. Best of luck to all our guys!
Mon., April 14, McGladrey Classic 2012 winner Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey participated
in the Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Tournament! You might
recall that lead singer Darius Rucker performed at the 2011
McGladrey Classic. Based on that, we’re sure this week’s event was a great time!
Speaking of, The McGladrey Classic always
makes us think about beautiful Sea Island – home of the tournament. Well, this
week there was some big news about the resort: Sea Island was nominated as one
of 20 nominees for USA Today's "10 Best Golf
Destinations," to be published April 23. The destination with
the highest number of votes wins, so be sure to cast your vote and encourage
your friends and family to do the same. You can vote once a day, every
day until noon on April 21. Use this link to vote.
And in more news from Sea Island, you probably
recall that a couple weeks ago we mentioned that Davis, who lives on the
island, didn’t play at the Valero Texas Open because his daughter Lexie (and
McGladrey Classic tournament coordinator) was getting married at the family
home. Well, this week Davis shared a sneak peek from the wedding. Check out the
pictures here.
In closing this week’s update, we’d like to
wish our readers a wonderful and cheerful Easter weekend. We hope you all those
eggs you hide!
Check back next week for more updates.
