This week,
Team McGladrey Member Zach Johnson is in San Antonio for the Valero Texas
Open. Zach teed off this morning (March 27) at 8:10am CST on tee #10. Best of
luck, Zach!
Speaking of
Team McGladrey, we’d like to congratulate the Davis Love
Golf Management team (founded by Team McGladrey Member Davis Love III
and his brother Mark Love) on being selected to manage the Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, GA. In 1996, Laurel Island Links
was the second course designed by Love Golf Design. Davis and the rest of the
team are excited about adding Laurel Island Links to their portfolio of
courses, and we’re excited for them!
Next Tues.,
April 1 (No foolin’!) is the first day NEW volunteers can sign-up to support the 2014
McGladrey Classic. Volunteer slots are filled on a first-come,
first-served basis, so don’t wait too long! Spots have filled up quickly in the
past – even though it takes 1,200 volunteers to make the tournament a success
each year. Will you be joining us at Sea Island in October?
Another
member of The McGladrey Classic family Ben Crane, winner of the 2011 McGladrey
Classic, recently partnered with Golf Digest Magazine for a new video series
“#GolfSecrets with Ben Crane.” Ben’s larger-than-life personality comes across
loud and clear in the first episode, which you can watch here.
After
watching the video, tell us… Are YOU in the “now” when YOU enter the squat
stir?
This isn’t
the only series Golf Digest is rolling out. Others will include Nerve
Wreckers, Breaking Bad Scores and The Hot List. In
their news release, Golf Digest describes the
channel as, “a wide range of content focusing on Golf Digest’s core strengths
in equipment and instruction, as well as humorous and informative original
series.” We think Ben hit it out of the park (or maybe off the course?) with
the first video. What do you think?
Also this
week, the Golf Channel announced on Tues., March
25, that they will broadcast the Friday matches at the 2014 Ryder Cup. This
will be the first time that the network has provided live coverage of the
event. You can bet we’ll be tuning in! Will you? Here’s the complete schedule
(all times are ET):
·
Day One (Sept. 26): 2:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on
Golf Channel
·
Day Two (Sept. 27): 3 a.m.-1 p.m. on
NBC
·
