It’s a windy day here at Sea Island, but that hasn’t kept the crowds away from The McGladrey Classic. Things teed off today with Youth Day, sponsored by Southeast Georgia Health System. Hundreds of enthusiastic youth turned out for games, face painting, good food and golf demonstrations by 2012 McGladrey Classic Champion Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey and his best bud (and fellow PGA TOUR Professional) William McGirt. Following an audience Q&A, attendees were blown away, not by the wind, but by trick shots and glass breaking under bright, beautiful Georgia skies.
What
else is going on here on the island today? McGladrey Birdies Fore Love winner Jignasha
Voralia and her guest (husband Rajesh) arrived on the island in time for a
quick tour before participating in Youth Day activities. Jignasha will provide
a guest post here on our blog later this week with her first-hand account of
her experience here at Sea Island.
But
that’s not all. This evening McGladrey hosts and guests will attend a reception
at The Cloister’s Spanish Lounge, where they’ll be joined by a special guest.
Check back tomorrow to find out who this evening’s “mystery guest” is, and
check back every day throughout the tournament for updates and images from the
2013 McGladrey Classic!
