The 2013 McGladrey Classic - Perspective from a "Newbie"

Today's guest post is by McGladrey Assurance Associate Mike Pinzini from the firm's Irvine, CA office. Mike was one of McGladrey's Birdies Fore Love winners and, as a result, had an opportunity to attend this year's McGladrey Classic. Below are his thoughts on his experience at Sea Island.

What was the best part of The McGladrey Classic? Was it the golfing? The people? The hotel and scenery? It’s hard to say. Upon our arrival, everyone was so helpful and gracious. This event/tournament was spectacular, thanks to the individuals who organized and planned this fantastic event!
The first night, my wife and I attended a reception where McGladrey hosted clients and potential clients. The food was amazing, but the conversation was even better. The next morning, we played a round of golf with McGladrey partners, clients and potential clients at the Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Georgia. The 18-hole, par 72, 6,500-yard, private golf course was magnificent!  The course was located directly off of the Atlantic Ocean with beautiful greens and fairways. We even had a nice heavy breeze on holes 17 and 18 along the coast. I was paired with two of McGladrey regional managing directors (Don Natenstedt and Bill Gorman) and a client. We had a great day of golf with some friendly competition!

Tuesday night was the opening reception to The McGladrey Classic, hosted by Team McGladrey Member Davis Love III and his lovely wife Robin at their stunning Sea Island home. The reception featured a live band as well as the pairing selection for the Pro- Am tournament. Davis was the most amazing host. We had the pleasure of talking with him briefly. He has such a great appreciation for McGladrey, and enjoys his work with Birdies Fore Love. We had a wonderful time.

Wednesday’s Pro-Am was a spectacular experience. You could definitely feel the appreciation of all the people there. McGladrey has the perfect balance of character and prestige. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and the tournament is well respected throughout the community. From the players to the people-watching, everyone is thrilled to be a part of the remarkable experience that is The McGladrey Classic.
