Happy Memorial Day from Team McGladrey!

This coming long weekend marks an important occasion in American history – Memorial Day, formerly known as Decoration Day, commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in military service. First enacted to honor Union and Confederate soldiers following the American Civil War, it was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars. On behalf of Team McGladrey, we’d like to encourage you to take time out of your holiday activities to remember those who have given so much to make our country great.

And now for an update from Team McGladrey:

Many of you probably recall that Team McGladrey Member Natalie Gulbis was on the 2009 season of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. While she didn’t win, she and her team (Athena) were pleased to be able to raise funds for those in need through their cupcake sales. This year, Natalie was happy to see John Rich win, raising half a million dollars for St. Jude’s Hospital. Next week, Natalie will play in the ShopRite LPGA Classic (June 3-5) at the Seaview, Bay Course in Galloway, NJ.

Team McGladrey Member Zach Johnson set off a bit of a firestorm on Twitter last week with his ranking of Mexican food chains. Which do you think is his favorite? You can find out by following him on Twitter. What’s YOUR favorite Mexican food chain?

You know how Google Alerts sometimes send you updates about postings that aren’t so current? This week, we got one from 2004 – it’s a YouTube video of Team Chris DiMarco’s hole-in-one from the 2004 Masters. Nice! You can check it out here. For a more recent peak at Chris’s activities, check out this photo of him hitting his tee shot on the 17th hole during the British Open Championship Qualifying Competition at Gleaneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas.

Speaking of qualifying, Team McGladrey Member Davis Love III qualified earlier this week during the International Final Qualifying (IFQ) America, for the British Open Championship being played this summer at Royal St. George’s. This will be Davis’ 25th consecutive start in golf’s oldest major championship. We’re so proud!

Next week, be on the lookout for a special announcement from Davis and McGladrey about a unique contest we’re partnering to sponsor. We’re continuing to finalize plans this week, and can’t wait to tell you all about it! Check back here, like us on Facebook and/or follow us on Twitter to make sure you’re one of the first to know about this fun contest. You’ll be glad you did!

In the meantime, HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
